During World War One the flame thrower was first used. In the early days of its life the flame thrower did not do much. It was limited by many things, first it had a maximum flame of twenty feet. Second the flame was not that substantal because of the less flamable fule used, naplam was invented later in 1942 to icrease the flame. The benifits of this device were mainly the psychological effect it had and the fumes that it let out caused half of the deaths asocated with it.
